When the ALB arrived, the vessel had retrieved approximately 100 metres of 55mm rope on board, with the end going to the sea bed made off on a bollard aboard.
The casualty attached a line and buoy to this part of the rope, and let it go over board.
The ALB then approached and passed a tow line to the vessel.
Once attached, the vessel was towed towards Portland Marina.
At the entrance to the marina, the tow was released, and the casualty taken alongside the ALB and towed to a bearth within.
Once safely moored the ALB was released to return to station where it was refueled and made ready for service
