UK Coastguards requested assistance to a 25’ local fishing vessel, with 2 persons on board that had a fouled propeller and disabled approximately 6’ East of Weymouth
DLA approved the launch of the ALB.
The crew were paged, launched and proceeded.
Once on scene the situation was assessed. With no other problems other than a fouled propeller, the decision was made to pass a line and tow the vessel to Weymouth.
The tow was rigged and passed to the casualty, and the vessel towed to the harbour entrance.
At the entrance the tow was slipped, and the casualty brought alongside the ALB port side and an alongside tow rigged for the passage up the harbour.
Once at the allocated berth, the vessel was put safely alongside with the assistance of the local Coastguard team and harbour staff.
The ALB was released to return to station, refuelled and made ready for service
