Weymouth RNLI all-weather lifeboat was launched 4.06pm on Saturday 27th July. Solent Coastguard had requested that the lifeboat launch to the aid of a 36’ motor vessel close to Durdle Door.
The vessel was on passage from Weymouth to Poole when they suffered engine failure, they were able to anchor and await the arrival of the lifeboat.
Once on scene at 4.35pm the volunteer lifeboat crew found that one of the motor boat crew was severely sea sick and that the anchor had fouled a pot bouy.
Once they had released the anchor, the vessel was taken in tow back to Weymouth, arriving at 6.00pm.
The vessel was berthed at the waiting pontoon where they were met by the Coastguard CRT from Wyke Coastguard.
The lifeboat returned to station was refuelled and made ready for the next shout.
