ALB launched to a 30' motor vessel with engine failure

A tasking request was received from Solent Coastguard requesting the ALB to locate and assist a 30ft white motor cruiser, disabled and drifting in Portland Harbour.
The vessel was disabled due to an electrical issue with fumes emanating from behind the wheelhouse consul and was considered by the CG to be a potential fire risk.
There were three persons on board the vessel all safe at this time.
Once on scene the casualty was found to be in tow of a Portland Port vessel
The tow was transferred to the ALB and the casualty safely berthed in Portland Marina.
The ALB then returned to station where it was refuelled and made ready for service in line with Covid-19 procedures.
