Both Lifeboats launched at 0450 on Wednesday 23rd Aug 2017 to a report of a 38’ motor vessel aground in Lulworth Cove.
Once on scene the ILB put a crew member on board to assess the situation.
With no visible damage, no water ingress and both the occupants well, the ILB rigged a towline.
The ALB stood off and illuminated the area.
Once clear of the rocks the ILB towed the vessel out of the Cove.
Once outside the intension was for the ALB to tow the vessel to harbour, but this was declined by the skipper.
After the engines had been tested, and all compartments checked again with no signs of water, the vessel made passage to the Solent.
Both lifeboats returned to station refuelled and made ready for service.
This was the third shout for each boat in 18 hours!
