The ILB was launched to resume the search for a 17 year old male snorkeler, in the Church Ope area.

The ILB arrived at rendezvous point in Balaclava bay. Joined by two tenders from the cruise ship Britannia and one from the Queen Mary 2 who were also tasked to assist in the search.

A shore line search commenced, with ILB close to shoreline, and vessels assisting spaced 1 cable off each other. Portland was searched from Balaclava bay round to Chesil cove area. ILB and assisting vessels then retraced steps, searching back to Balaclava bay.

When nothing was found on completion of the allocated search, the ILB was stood down and returned to station for refuelling and standby for further instruction.

This search was further supported by two fixed wing aircraft, the ALB and one warship who were searching offshore.
