ILB launched to a report of a Kite Surfer in difficulties

ILB launched to a kite surfer seen to be in the water in difficulties and struggling to self rescue in a position approximately 300 yards offshore from Billy Winters café Portland Harbour.
As the ILB launched on service a revised sitrep was received from Solent CG giving a position of near the National Sailing Academy.
Once on scene there was no visual sighting of the casualty by the ILB and a search of the immediate area was commenced.
Shortly afterwards the ILB was made aware that the casualty and other kite surfers who had assisted him may now be ashore at Billy Winters.
The ILB made for this location and put a crew member ashore in order to confirm the casualties were safe and well.
As the ILB left the beach they were made aware by the CG of a potential second casualty, this Kite Surfer was checked but not found to be in any difficulties and was making his own way ashore, The ILB was released to return to station where it was refuelled and made ready for service in line with Covid 19 requirements.
