Weymouth ILB launched to a Pan Pan from a broken down diver RIB with 4 persons on board drifting towards the shore in Balaclava Portland.
Another dive boat responded to the initial call and once on scene sent a portable VHF and rope to the vessel, but because of the conditions did not want to chance towing the vessel of the shore.

When the ILB arrived, with all the divers & their equipment safely ashore with Portland Bill CRT, the situation was assessed, and with no obvious signs of damage, a tow was passed and the ILB tried to tow the vessel clear of the shore.

With this achieved, and with the vessel checked again, the port were contacted. and permission granted to tow the vessel to Castletown, Portland.

Once the vessel was safely alongside, The ILB was released to return to station, refuelled and made ready for service.
