Weymouth ILB paged at the request of Solent Coastguards to a report of a Para glider that had landed on the beach between “White Nose & Bats Head and could not get off the beach.

ILB launched & located the casualty on the beach at Middle Bottom. Just as they area another para glider landed on the same beach.

Due to the 2 metre dumping surf conditions at the scene, and with no one in immediate danger it was decided by the helm not to try and recover the casualties to the ILB, but a helicopter or cliff team extraction would be safer.

The NMOC paged Wyke, Lulworth & Kimmeridge CRT’s to undertake a cliff extraction, with the ILB remaining on scene to provide ‘safety cover’.

Once the 2 casualties had been safely retrieved up the cliff, all units were stood down. The ILB returned to station, refuelled and was made ready for service.
